Soil Investigation for the Addition of a Third Lane – Cikande–East Serang Segment

The Soil Investigation for the Addition of a Third Lane on the Cikande–East Serang Segment was conducted to obtain geotechnical data and soil condition information as a basis for planning toll road widening along a high-traffic transportation corridor. The scope of work included field geotechnical investigations, soil boring and testing, evaluation of existing subgrade and embankment conditions, and interpretation of geotechnical parameters to support the design of pavement, embankments, and toll road infrastructure foundations. Key challenges included varying subgrade conditions, stability requirements associated with increased traffic loading, and conducting investigations while the toll road remained operational. The technical approach involved systematic geotechnical investigation and testing, evaluation of soil bearing capacity and deformation characteristics, and development of geotechnical parameter recommendations to support the safe, stable, and reliable design of the additional toll road lane.
