Seismic Hazard and Structural Assessment for BP Offshore Facilities

The BP Offshore Project was conducted to evaluate seismic hazards and the dynamic response of offshore structures under site-specific environmental and seismic conditions. The scope of work included seismic hazard analysis, assessment of structural dynamic response and seabed soil conditions, evaluation of operational and offshore environmental loading, and development of seismic design parameters and technical recommendations for offshore structures. Key challenges included the effects of seismic activity on offshore facilities, variable seabed conditions and environmental loading, and the need to maintain structural stability and reliability under combined operational and seismic loads. The technical approach involved evaluating seismic characteristics and offshore structural response, optimizing seismic design parameters and structural systems, and developing technical recommendations to enhance the safety, stability, and reliability of offshore facilities under seismic and operational loading conditions.
