Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) and Site Response Analysis at Palu Bay
Central Sulawesi
The Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) and Site Response Analysis at Palu Bay were conducted to evaluate seismic hazard levels and site-specific seismic response in the Palu Bay area, which is characterized by complex geological conditions and a history of significant seismic activity. The scope of work included Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA), evaluation of geotechnical and dynamic soil characteristics, site seismic response analysis, and development of seismic design parameters for infrastructure design. Key challenges included the influence of local soil conditions on seismic amplification and the potential for ground deformation resulting from seismic activity. The technical approach involved developing site-specific design response spectra, evaluating earthquake acceleration parameters, and analyzing soil response to support safer and more resilient infrastructure design against seismic effects.
