Laboratory Testing for the Gunung Salak Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Project

The Laboratory Testing for the Gunung Salak Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Project was conducted to obtain geotechnical parameters for soil and rock as a basis for evaluating and developing geothermal power plant infrastructure. The scope of work included laboratory testing of soil and rock samples, evaluation of their physical and mechanical properties, analysis of geotechnical and engineering geological characteristics, and interpretation of test results to support the design of foundations and supporting PLTP infrastructure. Key challenges included the volcanic geological conditions, variations in soil and rock characteristics, and the need for accurate laboratory data to ensure the safety and stability of geothermal power plant infrastructure. The technical approach involved conducting controlled laboratory testing in accordance with applicable standards, evaluating soil and rock engineering parameters, and developing technical recommendations to support the safe and reliable design and operation of the PLTP facilities.
