Geotechnical Investigation and Soil Testing for the Sultan Alimuddin–Kakap Tunnel Project, Samarinda

The Geotechnical Investigation and Soil Testing for the Sultan Alimuddin–Kakap Tunnel Project in Samarinda was conducted to obtain subsurface geotechnical data and soil conditions to support tunnel development planning in an area with complex topographical and geological conditions. The scope of work included soil boring and testing, soil and rock sampling, evaluation of soil stratigraphy and engineering geological conditions, and interpretation of geotechnical parameters for tunnel and supporting structure design. Key challenges included varying soil and rock conditions, potential slope instability and ground deformation, and the need for detailed geotechnical data to support safe tunnel construction. The technical approach involved systematic geotechnical investigation and testing, evaluation of soil and rock characteristics, and preparation of geotechnical parameter recommendations to support the safe and reliable design and construction of the tunnel.
