The Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for Package 1 Hauling Road, STA. -10+000 to STA. 80+000, in East Kutai, East Kalimantan, was conducted to support the development of safe and reliable hauling road infrastructure within an operational area characterized by challenging topographic and geotechnical conditions. The scope of work included geotechnical investigation, route and geometric analysis, assessment of subgrade bearing capacity and slope stability, and development of the Detailed Engineering Design for pavement, drainage, and supporting hauling road infrastructure. Key challenges included varying subgrade conditions, potential settlement and pavement deterioration under heavy vehicle loading, and the need to maintain slope stability and drainage performance in an area with high rainfall. The technical approach involved optimizing the hauling road geometric and pavement design, evaluating ground and slope stability, and developing drainage systems and ground reinforcement recommendations to improve long-term stability, service life, and operational reliability.
