Design and Build for the West Apron Reclamation Construction Works – Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali

The West Apron Reclamation Project was conducted to support the development of airport airside facilities through reclamation and land development works in a coastal area characterized by soft soil conditions and potential ground deformation. The scope of work included geotechnical investigation, reclamation and embankment stability analysis, settlement and drainage system evaluation, and development of the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for the apron area and supporting infrastructure. Key challenges included reclamation embankment stability, control of differential settlement, and the need to provide adequate ground bearing capacity for aircraft operational loads. The technical approach involved optimizing reclamation and ground improvement designs, evaluating geotechnical stability, and developing drainage and monitoring systems to enhance the safety, stability, and operational reliability of the airport apron area.
