Advanced Maintenance Design for the Balikpapan–Samarinda Toll Road (Balsam Toll Road) – Sections 1 to 5

The Advanced Maintenance Design for the Balsam Toll Road, covering Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Balikpapan–Samarinda Toll Road, was conducted to support the improvement of infrastructure performance and service life along a corridor with challenging geotechnical and environmental conditions. The scope of work included evaluation of existing road embankment conditions and development of maintenance and rehabilitation designs for the toll road infrastructure. Key challenges included ground deformation and settlement, pavement deterioration due to traffic loading and environmental conditions, and the need to maintain embankment stability along the toll road corridor. The technical approach involved geotechnical stability assessment and development of maintenance and rehabilitation recommendations to improve the long-term safety, riding comfort, and operational reliability of the toll road.
